earworm of the day: american wedding

frank ocean (aka lonny breaux) released his nostalgia, ultra album not long ago. it's alright. while parts of it are amazing, uplifting and beautiful there are more than enough songs that fell off due to laziness. i find it boring lifting entire pieces of music without changing it in any way but i guess that's between frank's lawyers and the artists he jacked. a lot of people seem to love it so good on him for knocking this one out of the park.

american wedding is a direct lift of hotel california, which for the record, i can't stand in the first place. the reason this is stuck in my head is because the last 49 seconds of the track is a little acapella build up that sounds like it would be a killer song if it had been developed a little further. i love how uplifting the message is and the way the harmonies are layered is brilliant. i just kept listening to that last bit over and over again which is apparently the exact same thing everyone else is doing. frank, turn that shit into a full song would you please?
